Status Go – Episode 55

As I mention in my intro to this episode, Pete Williams – CIO of Butler University – is a CIO who has “done it”. He has taken his department on a journey. They have become a profit generator, able to create revenue that feeds back into the IT department.

In our conversation, we cover a lot of ground. There are important lessons to IT leaders in every industry about how to lead in a dynamic environment. Higher Ed is changing dramatically. Pete talks to us about how to ensure IT is aligned with the past, present and future of their business, their students (and the parents), and their staff.

Status Go – Episode 53

Parking – not an industry that screams digital. In Episode 53, Matt Belanger, the senior vice president of Service Delivery for Denison Parking teaches me a thing or two about preconceived notions and how wrong they can be! In this hyper-connected world the technology “behind the scenes” will surprise you.

The leadership of Denison Parking felt good about the next three to four years: solid revenue; stable market. But then what? Disruption, autonomous vehicles, advanced apps. Realizing they need to be ready to stay ahead, they brought in Matt as their first CIO. Together, they embarked on a transformation of the company from back-office systems to the way they interact with their clients and customers (you will have to listen to the show to understand the difference).

Episode 53 - InterVision Status GoIn this episode, I have the chance to sit down with Chris Daily, the managing director of BeLithe. Chris and his team take a holistic approach to teaching organizations about Agile development, project management and modern leadership.

Throughout our conversation, Chris highlights their people-first approach. Implementing Agile is all about change. They assess the team with which they are working. What skills do they have, what is their emotional intelligence quotient (EQ), do they understand servant leadership? In short, are they ready for the major change in thinking that is in front of them?

The conversation with Chris is lively and thought-provoking. Give it a listen!
