I have had the privilege of being both a guest on several podcasts and a host for InterVision’s Status Go podcast. To see only those on which I was guest, select the Category “Guest”. For episodes I hosted, select the Category “Host”. Thank You!

In this episode of Status Go, the tables are turned. Our executive producer, Meaghan Shaffer, interviews me about the changing face of IT. We have a great time discussing the shift I see happening in businesses of all types and what this shift means to the IT leader, soft skills that are becoming hard skills, and, what the IT leader should do in 2020 to prepare for this future.

Status Go is the weekly podcast from InterVision. We provide actionable insights from technology leaders to technology leaders who want to break out of the status quo and lead their businesses into the new future. Listen to more of our episodes here: https://www.intervision.com/statusgo-podcasts/

A great conversation with host, John Rouda! Together we geeked out on technology leadership, Commodore 64s, rock and roll, Lewis and Clark and a whole lot more!

On A Geek Leader, John Rouda talks to leaders in all types of arenas as a way to inspire and grow IT Leaders where ever he can. He wants to leave the tech community in a better place than he found it. Listen to more episodes of A Geek Leader here: https://www.ageekleader.com/

In March, I was honored to be a guest on the Leaders of Transformation podcast with host Nicole Jansen. In the conversation, I explain how the role of the CIO has evolved and why it’s necessary to build strategic partnerships with your IT vendors. He also describes several examples of traditionally non-tech industries that are being transformed through innovative technology and foresight. Don’t be left behind! Listen in and discover how you can drive differentiation in your industry using strategic planning and technology.

Our world needs more people who will step up and be a Leader of Transformation. Leaders who elevate others, empower them, give them a hand up, and encourage them to be their best. Who replace fear, doubt and judgement with faith, hope and love. Who take the lead and encourage new habits that support the health of our planet, our relationships and our life experience. It starts with leading ourselves first. Listen to more episodes here:

Status Go – Episode 72

#RaceinTechOK, I am a white host of a podcast, representing a predominately white company (InterVision) in an essentially white industry (tech). The last several weeks have forced me to confront my own inaction. In this episode, I sit down with Lamont Hatcher, CIO, and Wayne Patrick, CRO, both of AIS, an IT Managed Service company. We get honest and we get raw about their experience of being black in tech, being black in America, and being leaders of change.

If you are like me and want to learn and want to grow, you will want to listen. We cover aspects of their careers, how they persevered, and how they grew to be the leaders they are today. Lamont and Wayne also share some great insights for what we as tech leaders, as business leaders, and as human beings can do to turn the tide and make a difference.

Robin Fleming, ANVLRobin Fleming, CEO of Anvl, has the “distinct honor” of asking me the greatest question I have ever been asked while participating in a panel discussion. To know what that question was, you will have to listen to this episode. Of COURSE, there are more important reasons to listen to this episode.

Robin shares her amazing story of blue-collar beginnings in Arkansas, to tech roles, tech leadership, and now CEO of a SaaS company. Her story is guaranteed to give you goosebumps!

We discuss the impacts of COVID-19 on her business and her business’ customers. Anvl is a platform that enables companies to dramatically improve their safety programs and thus keep their team’s safer. Very applicable in today’s new world!

Our conversation also covers what it has been like for her in male-dominated industries (wood products, technology, safety) and the influence her mother had on her to go into a technology career.

Status Go – Episode 69

#StatusGo #AmplifyYourLeadershipIn our series on “What’s Next? Returning to the new normal”, Melanie Buergler and I discuss the challenges IT leaders are facing as we move from work-from-home orders back into our offices. Leaders must be considering four dimensions: customer, supply chain, employees, and self. In this episode, we focus on employees. How do you balance the needs of your employees with the needs of your business?

Our conversation covers work-life balance in a work-from-home world; fear of flying in today’s reality; those that are anxious to return to the office…and those that are not. You will find the conversation to be lively, insightful, and full of great actionable strategies to help any leader in these chaotic times.
